Docquity
A Knowledge Network for Verified Healthcare Professionals
March 2022
Docquity is Southeast Asia’s largest professional network of verified healthcare professionals. The app brings together continuing medical education, peer-to-peer collaboration, and access to critical clinical insights within a secure, authenticated space. The challenge was to streamline a multi-functional platform used by doctors for learning, certification, networking, and patient case discussions, while maintaining strict industry standards and an intuitive user experience. I was brought in to help evolve the product’s experience and design a scalable, professional-grade interface that meets both the academic and social needs of healthcare providers.

Project Overview
To create a secure, intuitive, and efficient platform where medical professionals can learn, connect, and grow, all while preserving their time and ensuring patient safety.
Docquity merges e-learning, professional networking, and clinical collaboration into a singular app designed exclusively for verified medical practitioners. The platform needed to deliver rapid information access while supporting peer validation and continuous upskilling.
Docquity was envisioned as a purpose-built ecosystem for verified medical professionals, designed not just for networking but also for upskilling, collaboration, and contribution in a secure, high-trust environment. The design challenge was to translate complex, high-stakes workflows into an intuitive experience that fits seamlessly into a doctor’s fast-paced life. Our focus was on enabling quick access to medical education, real-time case discussions, and certification tracking, all through a clean, efficient, mobile-first interface. The solution balanced depth with simplicity, ensuring that critical tasks like learning, sharing, and peer validation felt natural and frictionless. Every interaction was crafted to reinforce credibility, reduce cognitive load, and respect users’ time. As a result, Docquity became more than a product; it evolved into a trusted digital companion for over 400,000 doctors across Asia, supporting their continuous growth and professional excellence.
Approach
Wireframe
We followed a healthcare-centered UX methodology, focusing on high information clarity, low cognitive friction, and purposeful task flows tailored for doctors.
Every design decision was rooted in clarity, credibility, and speed — to minimize cognitive load while maximizing clinical value.
User-Centered Design Journey
We implemented a structured UX process focused on data-driven design, continuous validation, and real-time user testing.
Empathize Interviews with 30+ doctors from India, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Identified pain points around verification friction, overwhelming content feeds, and missed CPD credit tracking. Define Created personas like The Time-Pressed Specialist, The Curious GP, and The Academic Practitioner. Framed core problems around quick learning, secure collaboration, and accessible certification. Ideate Brainstormed flows like microlearning paths, voice-based discussions, verified group threads, and peer-reviewed content. Prototype Built wireframes for home feed, CPD tracker, case discussions, and live webinar experiences. Focused on hierarchy, speed, and minimal taps to reach key tools. Test Ran usability testing across 3 regional markets. Doctors gave feedback on clarity, searchability, and perceived reliability of peer content. Refine Integrated smart filters, streamlined verification flow, and modular content blocks. Enhanced dark mode support and typography for readability during night shifts.
The design was driven by the principles of clarity, credibility, and control. With doctors relying on split-second access to critical knowledge, the UX was shaped to feel fast, focused, and secure, all while reinforcing the professional nature of the platform. Every screen was designed to respect users’ time, reduce friction, and amplify trust.
Final Design
The final design focused on function, speed, and visual clarity, giving medical professionals a modern interface that supports both quick actions and deep engagement.
The platform's refined UX drastically reduced user friction, supported lifelong learning, and elevated the app to a trusted professional tool for over 400,000 doctors.
